Robert Bourchier, 1st Baron Bourchier1

     Robert Bourchier, 1st Baron Bourchier was the son of John Bourchier and Helen of Colchester.1 He married Margaret Prayers, daughter of Sir Thomas Prayers and Anne of Essex.2 He died circa 18 May 1349, from the plague.1,3 He was buried at Halstead, Essex, EnglandG.2
     He was a Man at Arms in 1324.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Essex from 1329 to 1330.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Essex in 1332.2 He held the office of Chief Justice of the King’s Bench [Ireland] in July 1334, but he did not accept the office.2 He fought in the Battle of Cadsant in 1337, in the French Wars.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Essex in 1339.2 He held the office of Lord Chancellor between 14 December 1340 and 28 October 1341.2 He fought in the Battle of Crécy on 26 August 1346.2 He was with the Embassy to treat for peace with France in 1347.2 He was created 1st Baron Bourchier [England by writ] on 20 November 1348.2 He was with the Embassy to treat for peace with France in 1349.2

     John Bourchier, 2nd Baron Bourchier was born on 12 March 1329.2 He was the son of Robert Bourchier, 1st Baron Bourchier and Margaret Prayers.1 He married Maud Coggeshall, daughter of Sir John Coggeshall.1 He died on 21 May 1400 at age 71.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Bourchier [E., 1348] in 1349.1 In 1355 he was with Prince Edward in Germany.1 He fought in the Battle of Auray in 1364.1 Between 1371 and 1375 he was a captive in France.2 He was appointed Knight Banneret before 1380.1 He held the office of Governor-in-Chief of Flanders in 1384.1 He fought in the crusade to Prussia from 1390 to 1391.2 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1392.1
