     Mary Georgiana Barnard was born in 1823 at Plymouth, Devon, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Rear-Admiral Sir Edward King Barnard and Mary Parkin.¹ She married Arthur Howard Ashworth, son of Philip Howard Ashworth and Ruth Cooper, on 13 June 1854 at East Stonehouse Parish Church, Devon, England^G.¹ She died on 17 August 1894 at 2 Upper Chamberlyne Place, Southampton, Hampshire, England^G, from cancer.¹
     From 13 June 1854, her married name became Ashworth.¹
