     Lady Frances Wilhelmina Bentinck was born on 18 February 1684.² She was the daughter of Hans William Bentinck, 1st Earl of Portland and Anne Villiers.^3,2 She married William Byron, 4th Baron Byron of Rochdale, son of William Byron, 3rd Baron Byron of Rochdale and Hon. Elizabeth Chaworth, on 19 December 1706.¹ She died on 31 March 1712 at age 28 at Kensington, London, England^G.^1,3 She died intestate and her estate was administered on 28 April 1712.³ She was buried on 7 April 1712 at Hucknall, Nottinghamshire, England^G.⁴
     After her marriage, Lady Frances Wilhelmina Bentinck was styled as Baroness Byron of Rochdale on 19 December 1706. From 19 December 1706, her married name became Byron.

     Lady Isabella Bentinck was born on 4 May 1688.¹ She was the daughter of Hans William Bentinck, 1st Earl of Portland and Anne Villiers.¹ She married Evelyn Pierrepont, 1st Duke of Kingston-upon-Hull, son of Robert Pierrepont and Elizabeth Evelyn, on 2 August 1714.¹ She died on 23 February 1728 at age 39.¹
     Her married name became Pierrepont.

     Lady Sophia Bentinck was born in 1701.² She was the daughter of Hans William Bentinck, 1st Earl of Portland and Jane Martha Temple.¹ She married Henry Grey, 1st and last Duke of Kent, son of Anthony Grey, 11th Earl of Kent and Mary Lucas, Baroness Lucas of Crudwell, on 24 March 1728/29.¹ She died on 5 June 1741.¹
     Her married name became Grey.

     Lady Elizabeth Adriana Bentinck was the daughter of Hans William Bentinck, 1st Earl of Portland and Jane Martha Temple.^2,3 She married Rev. Hon. Henry Egerton, son of John Egerton, 3rd Earl of Bridgwater and Lady Jane Powlett, on 18 December 1720.³ She died in 1765.¹
     Her married name became Egerton.

     Lady Harriet Bentinck was born in 1705.² She was the daughter of Hans William Bentinck, 1st Earl of Portland and Jane Martha Temple.¹ She married James Hamilton, 1st Earl of Clanbrassill, son of James Hamilton and Hon. Anne Mordaunt, on 15 October 1728 at The Hague, The Netherlands^G.¹ She died on 10 June 1792 at Templeogue, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹
     After her marriage, Lady Harriet Bentinck was styled as Viscountess of the City of Limerick on 15 October 1728. From 15 October 1728, her married name became Hamilton. After her marriage, Lady Harriet Bentinck was styled as Countess of Clanbrassill on 24 November 1756.

     Lady Barbara Bentinck was the daughter of Hans William Bentinck, 1st Earl of Portland and Jane Martha Temple.¹ She married Francis Godolphin, 2nd Baron Godolphin, son of Reverend Henry Godolphin and Mary Godolphin, on 18 February 1733/34.¹ She died on 1 April 1736.¹
     Her married name became Godolphin.

     Colonel Lord George Bentinck was born in December 1715.¹ He was the son of Capt.-Gen. Henry Bentinck, 1st Duke of Portland and Lady Elizabeth Noel.¹ He married Mary Davies on 29 June 1753.¹ He died on 1 March 1759 at age 43.¹ He was buried on 8 March 1759 at Heston, London, England.²
     He gained the rank of Colonel of Foot.¹

     Edward Harley, 2nd Earl of Oxford was born on 2 June 1689. He was the son of Robert Harley, 1st Earl of Oxford and Elizabeth Foley.^2,3 He married Lady Henrietta Cavendish Holles, daughter of John Holles, 1st and last Duke of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and Lady Margaret Cavendish, on 31 August 1713 at Wimpole, Cambridgeshire, England^G. He died on 16 June 1741 at age 52 at Dover Street, London, England^G, without surviving male issue.⁴
     He gained the title of Earl of Mortimer. He gained the title of 2nd Earl of Oxford in 1724.

     Lady Anne Saville was the daughter of William Saville, 2nd Marquess of Halifax and Elizabeth Grimston.¹ She married Charles Bruce, 4th Earl of Elgin, son of Thomas Bruce, 3rd Earl of Elgin and Lady Elizabeth Seymour, on 7 February 1705/6 at St. Gile’s-in-the-Fields Church, London, England^G.¹ She died on 18 July 1717.¹ She was buried on 25 July 1717 at Maulden, Bedfordshire, England^G.¹
     After her marriage, Lady Anne Saville was styled as Baroness Bruce of Whorlton on 29 December 1711.

     Lt.-Col. Thomas Horatio Arthur Ernest Cochrane, 1st Baron Cochrane of Cults was born on 2 April 1857.² He was the son of Thomas Barnes Cochrane, 11th Earl of Dundonald and Louisa Harriet Mackinnon.² He married Lady Gertrude Julia Georgina Boyle, daughter of George Frederick Boyle, 6th Earl of Glasgow and Hon. Monatgue Abercromby, on 2 December 1880.² He died on 17 January 1951 at age 93.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Scots Guards.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal Union) for North Ayrshire between 1892 and 1910.² He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1895 and 1901, to the Secretary of State for the Colonies.¹ He gained the rank of Major in 1900 in the 4th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Fife.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Fife.² He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901.¹ He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1902 and 1905, to the Under-Secretary of the Home Department.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in the 4th Battalion, Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 2nd/7th Black Watch between 1914 and 1917.² He gained the rank of Honorary Lieutenant-Colonel in 1917 in the Territorial Forces Reserve.¹ He was created 1st Baron Cochrane of Cults, of Crawford Priory, co. Fife [U.K.] on 16 May 1919.¹ He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland^G, in 1934.¹
