     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Honourable East India Company Service.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1

Catherine Fraser1

     Catherine Fraser was the daughter of Donald Fraser.1 She married Lt.-Col. Patrick Vans Agnew of Barnbarroch and Sheuchan, son of Robert Vans Agnew of Barnbarroch and Sheuchan and Frances Wallace-Dunlop, on 7 September 1813.1 She died in 1879.1
     From 7 September 1813, her married name became Vans Agnew.1
