     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 14th Baronet Barclay, of Pierston, co. Ayr [N.S., 1668] on 18 March 1930.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was 2nd Secretary, Diplomatic Service between 1938 and 1941.¹ He fought in the Second World War in 1941.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Commander in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.¹ He was a painter.¹ He wrote the book Crete: Checklist of the Vascular Plants, published 1986.¹ He lived in 2003 at 23 High Street, Broughton, Stockbridge, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Rosamund Grant Renton Elliott is the daughter of Dr. Walter Armstrong Elliott.¹ She married Sir Colville Herbert Sanford Barclay of Pierston, 14th Bt., son of Rt. Hon. Sir Colville Adrian de Rune Barclay and Sarita Enriqueta Ward, on 19 March 1949.¹
     From 19 March 1949, her married name became Barclay.¹

     Dr. Walter Armstrong Elliott lived at Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire, England^G.¹

Machado 1005, Jardim Botânico, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil^G.¹ He succeeded as the 15th Baronet Barclay, of Pierston, co. Ayr [N.S., 1668] on 1 September 2010.²

     Lucilia Saboia de Albuquerque is the daughter of Carlos Saboia de Albuquerque.¹ She married Robert Colraine Barclay of Pierston, 15th Bt., son of Sir Colville Herbert Sanford Barclay of Pierston, 14th Bt. and Rosamund Grant Renton Elliott, in 1980.¹
     From 1980, her married name became Barclay.¹

     Carlos Saboia de Albuquerque lived at Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil^G.¹
