     Sir William Bloyes Barclay of Pierston, 5th Bt. was born circa 1710 at Craven Street, Westminster, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir James Barclay of Pierston, 4th Bt. and unknown Bloyes.¹ He married Susanna Church, daughter of William Church, on 18 March 1746/47 at Fleet Chapel, London, England^G.¹ He died on 7 June 1756, on board H.M.S. Bedford.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 26 June 1756.¹
     He gained the rank of Purser in the Royal Navy.¹ His last will was dated 23 August 1743. He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Barclay, of Pierston, co. Ayr [N.S., 1668] on 12 January 1755.¹

     Susanna Church was born circa 1716.¹ She was the daughter of William Church.¹ She married Sir William Bloyes Barclay of Pierston, 5th Bt., son of Sir James Barclay of Pierston, 4th Bt. and unknown Bloyes, on 18 March 1746/47 at Fleet Chapel, London, England^G.¹ She died on 28 March 1791 at Barnes Terrace, London, England^G.¹ She was buried on 3 April 1791 at Mortlake, Surrey, England^G.¹
     From 18 March 1746/47, her married name became Barclay.¹

     William Church was a surgeon at Gloucester, Gloucestershire, England^G.¹

     Lt.-Col. Sir William Barclay of Pierston, 6th Bt. was born on 22 May 1748.¹ He was baptised on 22 May 1748 at St. John’s, Westminster, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir William Bloyes Barclay of Pierston, 5th Bt. and Susanna Church.¹ He died in 1769 at Calcutta, India^G, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Guards.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Barclay, of Pierston, co. Ayr [N.S., 1668] on 7 June 1756.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1765 in the Honourable East India Company Service, accompanying Clive to India.¹

     Captain Sir James Mantle Barclay of Pierston, 7th Bt. was born on 2 October 1750 at Kingston, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir William Bloyes Barclay of Pierston, 5th Bt. and Susanna Church.¹ He was baptised on 2 November 1750 at Portsea, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He died on 12 June 1793 at age 42 at Aachen, Germany^G, unmarried.¹
     He fought in the capture of Havana in 1762.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Barclay, of Pierston, co. Ayr [N.S., 1668] in 1769.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.

     Sir Robert Barclay of Pierston, 8th Bt. was born on 13 September 1755 at Gosport, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir William Bloyes Barclay of Pierston, 5th Bt. and Susanna Church.¹ He married, firstly, Elizabeth Tickell, daughter of John Tickell and Esther Pierson, on 20 November 1780 at Ghent, Belgium^G.^2,3 He married, secondly, Harriette Alicia Durell, daughter of Colonel Thomas Durell and Martha Hall, on 20 June 1802 at Church of the British Factory, Hamburg, Germany^G.¹ He died on 14 August 1839 at age 83 at Mauritius^G.¹
     He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Barclay, of Pierston, co. Ayr [N.S., 1668] on 12 June 1793.¹ In 1798 he was taken prisoner by the French, and tried for complicity with a mission held at Hamburg in 1796-1798, but was acquitted and released on 19 November 1799.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newtown, Isle of Wight between 1802 and 1806.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newtown, Isle of Wight between 1806 and 1807.¹ He held the office of Collector of Internal Revenue, Mauritius between 1813 and 1835.³

     Elizabeth Tickell was born circa 1756.¹ She was the daughter of John Tickell and Esther Pierson.¹ She married Sir Robert Barclay of Pierston, 8th Bt., son of Sir William Bloyes Barclay of Pierston, 5th Bt. and Susanna Church, on 20 November 1780 at Ghent, Belgium^G.^2,3 She died on 13 March 1788 at Maastricht, The Netherlands^G.¹ She was buried at French Walloon Protestant Church, Maastricht, The Netherlands^G.¹
     From 30 November 1780, her married name became Barclay.¹

     John Tickell was born in 1729.² He was the son of Thomas Tickell.² He married Esther Pierson, daughter of Thomas Pierson.² He died in 1782.²
     He lived at Glasnevin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹

     Harriette Alicia Durell was born on 15 July 1777.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel Thomas Durell and Martha Hall.¹ She married, firstly, Baron (?) de Cronstedt before 1802.¹ She married, secondly, Sir Robert Barclay of Pierston, 8th Bt., son of Sir William Bloyes Barclay of Pierston, 5th Bt. and Susanna Church, on 20 June 1802 at Church of the British Factory, Hamburg, Germany^G.¹ She died on 16 February 1859 at age 81 at Brook Street, Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹
     From before 1802, her married name became de Cronstedt.¹ From 20 June 1802, her married name became Barclay.¹

     Colonel Thomas Durell married Martha Hall, daughter of John Hall and Hester Brownsmith.
     He gained the rank of Deputy Commisioner-General in the Royal Horse Guards (Blues.)¹ He held the office of Equerry to King George III.²
