He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Barclay, of Pierston, co. Ayr [N.S., 1668] in 1694/95.1 He was Commissioner of Supply for Ayrshire in 1704.2

Sir Robert Barclay of Pierston, 3rd Bt.1 
In 1715 he joined the Jacobites, and escaped abroad.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Barclay, of Pierston, co. Ayr [N.S., 1668] before 1717.1 On 22 August 1720 he sold the estate of Pierston.1

Sir James Barclay of Pierston, 4th Bt.1 
He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Barclay, of Pierston, co. Ayr [N.S., 1668] in 1728.1 He graduated from University of Glasgow, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, ScotlandG, in 1734 with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)1 He gained the rank of Surgeon in the Royal Navy.1
