     He was educated at Retford Grammar School, Retford, Nottinghamshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery.¹ He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1945, where he was mentioned in despatches and captured as a POW.¹ He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Pilot Officer in the Royal Air Force.¹ He graduated from London University, London, England^G, with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.)¹ He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1948 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)      She was educated at Cobham Hall, Kent, England^G.¹ From 1989, her married name became Bradby.¹ She lived in 2003 at Hollesley Lodge, Woodbridge, Suffolk, England^G.¹

     William J. L. Bradby is the son of James Bradby.¹ He married Hon. Josephine Julia Asquith Barber, daughter of Anthony Perrinott Lysberg Barber, Baron Barber and Jean Patricia Asquith, in 1989.¹
