     In 1641 he had a Crown charter of the Barony of Pitmedden.² In 1644 he wounded his cousin Sir John Gordon of Haddo in a duel.²

     Marion Hamilton was the daughter of Alexander Hamilton.¹ She married Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, son of Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick and Margaret Forbes.¹
     Her married name became Bannerman.¹

     Alexander Hamilton lived at Easter Binning, West Lothian, Scotland^G.¹

     Stephen le Scrope was the son of Stephen le Scrope, Lord Scrope and Margery de Welles.¹ He died in August 1418.¹
     He held the office of Archdeacon of Richmond.¹

     Isabel Murray was the daughter of Sir John Murray of Blackbarony and Margaret Wauchope.^1,2 She married Patrick Scott of Tanlawhill, son of Walter Scott of Gamescleuch and Janet Porteous.³
     Her married name became Scott.

     Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 1st Bt. and Margaret Scott.¹ He married Isabella Macdonald, daughter of Sir Donald Macdonald, 10th of Sleat, 3rd Bt. and Lady Mary Douglas.¹ He died in February 1742.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Bannerman, of Elsick, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1682] on 11 April 1711.¹

     Isabella Macdonald was the daughter of Sir Donald Macdonald, 10th of Sleat, 3rd Bt. and Lady Mary Douglas.¹ She married Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 1st Bt. and Margaret Scott.¹ She died on 13 June 1743.¹
     Her married name became Bannerman.¹

     Sir Donald Macdonald, 10th of Sleat, 3rd Bt. was the son of Sir James ‘Mor’ Macdonald, 9th of Sleat, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Mackenzie.² He married Lady Mary Douglas, daughter of Robert Douglas, 8th Earl of Morton and Elizabeth Villiers, on 24 July 1662 at Perth, Perthshire, Scotland^G.² He died on 5 February 1695.²
     In 1660 he had the name and representation of the Macdonalds restored. Clan Donald had been treated as chiefless since the forfeiture of the 11th Earl of Ross.³ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Macdonald, of Sleat, in the Isle of Skye, co. Inverness [N.S., 1625] on 8 December 1678.² In 1684 he was “sued as unfaithful.”²
