     He was educated at London Oratory School, London, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1899 and 1902, where he was severely wounded and mentioned in despatches twice.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1900.¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was again wounded and mentioned in despatches six times.¹ He gained the rank of Brevet Lieutenant-Colonel.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) in 1917.¹ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre avec palmes.¹ He was awarded the Chevalier, Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.¹ He fought in the Waziristan Campaign in 1922.¹ He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 1st Battalion, Welch Regiment between 1922 and 1926.¹

     Nest Bradney is the daughter of Colonel Sir Joseph Alfred Bradney.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Christopher Robert Berkeley, son of Henry William Berkeley and Matilda Catherine Copeland, on 8 May 1919.¹
     From 8 May 1919, her married name became Berkeley.¹

     Colonel Sir Joseph Alfred Bradney lived at Tai-y-Coed, Monmouthshire, Wales^G.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)¹

     Lt.-Col. Maurice Berkeley was born on 12 January 1921.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Christopher Robert Berkeley and Nest Bradney.¹ He married Sylvia Mary Close Maudsley, daughter of John Tennant Maudsley, on 18 November 1950.¹ He died on 31 July 1993 at age 72 at Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.^1,2
     He was educated at Beaumont College, Old Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.¹

     Sylvia Mary Close Maudsley was born in 1921.² She was the daughter of John Tennant Maudsley.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Maurice Berkeley, son of Lt.-Col. Christopher Robert Berkeley and Nest Bradney, on 18 November 1950.¹ She died on 17 March 2021.²
     From 18 November 1950, her married name became Berkeley.¹ She lived in 2003 at 21 Chancellor House, Mt. Ephraim, Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England^G.¹

     John Tennant Maudsley lived at Caton, Lancashire, England^G.¹

     Hugh Christopher Berkeley was born on 28 July 1952.¹ He is the son of Lt.-Col. Maurice Berkeley and Sylvia Mary Close Maudsley.¹

     John Henry Berkeley was born on 8 March 1956.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Maurice Berkeley and Sylvia Mary Close Maudsley.¹ He married Nina Elaine Pritchard-Davies, daughter of A. R. S. Pritchard-Davies, in 1980.¹ He died on 20 October 1998 at age 42.¹
     He was educated at Worth School, Turners Hill, Sussex, England^G.¹ He graduated from London School of Printing, London, England^G, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹

     Nina Elaine Pritchard-Davies is the daughter of A. R. S. Pritchard-Davies.¹ She married John Henry Berkeley, son of Lt.-Col. Maurice Berkeley and Sylvia Mary Close Maudsley, in 1980.¹
     From 1980, her married name became Berkeley.¹
