Admiral of the Fleet Sir William Parker, 1st Bt. was born on 1 December 1781.3 He was the son of George Parker and Elizabeth Turton.3 He married Frances Anne Biddulph, daughter of Sir Theophilus Biddulph, 5th Bt. and Hannah Prestridge, on 9 June 1810.1 He was also reported to have been married on 10 June 1810.3 He died on 13 November 1866 at age 84.3
He gained the rank of officer in 1793 in the Royal Navy.3 He gained the rank of Acting Lieutenant in 1796 in the Royal Navy.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in March 1799 in the Royal Navy.3 He gained the rank of Acting Captain on 1 May 1799 in the Royal Navy.3 He gained the rank of Commander on 10 October 1799 in the Royal Navy.3 He gained the rank of Captain in 1801 in the Royal Navy.3 He fought in the Napoleonic Wars.3 In 1805 as Captain HMS Amazon was under Nelson’s command in the pursuit of the French Admiral Villeneuve to the West Indies; subsequently ordered on a seperate patrol from Nelson’s fleet, thus missing Trafalgar.3 In March 1806 he captured the French ship Belle Poule.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Staffordshire.3 He purchased at Shenstone Lodge, Staffordshire, England.3 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1815.3 He gained the rank of Captain in 1828 at Greek Coast in the HMSWarspite as senior naval officer.3 He was Commander of the royal yacht Prince Regent in December 1828.3 He was Commander of the Royal Admiral in 1830.3 He was Commander of the Channel Squadron in 1831.3 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1834.3 He was Commander of a Lord Admiralty ship between July 1834 and December 1834.3 He was Commander of the a Lord Admiralty ship between April 1835 and May 1841.3 He was the first Aide-de-Camp to HM Queen Victoria.3 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral in 1841 in the Royal Navy.3 He gained the rank of Commander-in-Chief at the China station in the |where he took Amoy, Ningpo, Woosung, Shanghai and Chi-kiang-foo during hostilities.3 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1843.3 He was created 1st Baronet Parker, of Blackbrook House, co.
