He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.2 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1898 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn in 1901 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.2 He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1901 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Baker, of Loventor in Totnes, Devon [G.B., 1776] on 28 August 1912.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cheshire.2 He was Secretary of the National Asembly of the Church of England between 1920 and 1939.1 He held the office of Vicar-General of Canterbury between 1934 and 1957.1 He graduated from Lambeth University, London, EnglandG, in 1936 with a Doctor of Civil Laws (D.C.L.)2 He held the office of First Church Estates Commissioner between 1939 and 1954.1 He held the office of Judge of the Provincial Courts of Canterbury and York.1 He held the office of High Steward of Congleton.2 He held the office of a Bencher in 1942.2 He held the office of Vicar-General of the Province of York.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1954.2
