He was educated at Downside School, Bath, Somerset, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Flight Commander in the Royal Flying Corps.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, in the King’s African Rifles in Tanganykia and Burnma, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Austin, of Red Hill, Castleford, West Riding of Yorks [U.K., 1894] on 13 November 1940.1
