     Mary Campbell was the daughter of Colin Campbell of Castleton and Mary Campbell.¹ She married John Campbell, 3rd of South Hall, son of Duncan Campbell, 2nd of South Hall and Euphan Livingstone, on 11 June 1795.¹ She died on 6 April 1858.¹

     Colin Campbell of Castleton married Mary Campbell, daughter of Colin Campbell, 16th of Strachur and of Ardgartan.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Marines.¹

     Mary Campbell is the daughter of Colin Campbell, 16th of Strachur and of Ardgartan.¹ She married Colin Campbell of Castleton.¹

     Colin Campbell, 16th of Strachur and of Ardgartan was baptised on 17 March 1695/96.¹ He died on 1 September 1743 at age 47.¹

     General John Campbell, 17th of Strachur is the son of Colin Campbell, 16th of Strachur and of Ardgartan.¹

     John Campbell, 4th of South Hall was born on 24 October 1799.¹ He was the son of John Campbell, 3rd of South Hall and Mary Campbell.¹ He married Janet Finlay, daughter of Kirkman Finlay, on 22 October 1829.¹ He died on 22 September 1864 at age 64, without issue.¹
     He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Argyll.¹

     Janet Finlay was the daughter of Kirkman Finlay.¹ She married John Campbell, 4th of South Hall, son of John Campbell, 3rd of South Hall and Mary Campbell, on 22 October 1829.¹ She died on 15 October 1840.¹
     From 22 October 1829, her married name became Campbell.¹

     Kirkman Finlay lived at Castle Toward, Argyllshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Lieutenant Colin Campbell was born on 28 May 1801.¹ He was the son of John Campbell, 3rd of South Hall and Mary Campbell.¹ He died on 10 October 1859 at age 58, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 42nd Highlanders.¹

     Lieutenant Alexander Campbell was born on 4 June 1803.¹ He was the son of John Campbell, 3rd of South Hall and Mary Campbell.¹ He died on 20 March 1822 at age 18 at Madras, India^G, unmarried.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Honourable East India Company Service.¹
