Sir Anthony Ashley, 1st and last Bt.1 
He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Tavistock from 1588 to 1589.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Old Sarum from 1593 to 1594.2 He held the office of Clerk of the Privy Council.2 He held the office of Secretary to the Council of War.2 He was appointed Knight in June 1596 at Cadiz, SpainG.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Dorset from 1619 to 1620.2 He was created 1st Baronet Ashley, of St. Giles’, Wimborn, co. Dorset [England] on 3 July 1623.1
On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.2
