Captain Bernard Armitage Warburton-Lee, V.C.1

Captain Bernard Armitage Warburton-Lee, V.C. was born on 13 September 1895 at Broad Oak, Wrexham, Wales.2,3 He was the son of Joseph Henry Warburton-Lee.4 He married Elizabeth Campbell Swinton, daughter of Captain George Sitwell Campbell Swinton and Elizabeth Ebsworth, on 9 October 1924.4 He died on 10 April 1940 at age 44 at Ofot Fjord, Norway, killed in action.2 He was buried at Ballangen New Cemetery, Ballangen, NorwayG.2
He fought in the Second World War.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He lived at Broad Oak, Wrexham, Wales.1 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.) on 7 June 1940 posthumously, for his actions on 10 April 1940.5
