     Clare Elizabeth Phillimore was born on 30 June 1949.² She is the daughter of Captain Robert Fortescue Phillimore and Rachel Louisa Kidston.^1,2 She married Andrew Arthur Gregor Grant, son of Gregor James Grant and Elizabeth Arbuthnot Dudgeon, on 18 June 1977.²
     She was educated at Warwick University, Warwick, Warwickshire, England^G, Bachelor of Philopsophy (B.Phil.)² From 18 June 1977, her married name became Grant.² She lived at Hillcrest House, Flecknoe, Warwickshire, England.²

     Captain Robert Fortescue Phillimore was born on 16 May 1912.³ He was the son of Right-Admiral Sir Richard Fortescue Phillimore and Violet Gore Turton.³ He married Rachel Louisa Kidston, daughter of George Kidston, on 8 July 1939.³ He died on 15 January 1997 at age 84 at Winchester, Hampshire, England.²
     He was educated at Winchester College, Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.³ He fought in the Second World War.³ He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.³ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1943.³ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (D.S.C.) in 1944.³ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire in 1962.³

     Vanessa Rose Kingsford married Hamish Duncan Gregor Grant, son of Gregor James Grant and Elizabeth Arbuthnot Dudgeon, on 16 December 1989.¹ She died on 13 July 1997.¹
