     Lt.-Col. Guy Marsden Halsey was born on 15 November 1908.2 He was the son of Reverend Frederick Halsey and Audrey Katharine Marsden.2 He married Mary Juliet Gough Arbuthnot, daughter of Robert Wemyss Muir Arbuthnot and Mary Coghill, on 23 September 1939.1 He died on 28 October 1990 at age 81.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Hertfordshire Regiment (Territorial Army.)2 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hertfordshire in 1949.2
