     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.² He was a partner of Arbuthnot Latham & Company between 1875 and 1921.² He lived at 26 Cadogan Square, London, England^G.³

     Elizabeth Fountaine Walker was born circa 1857 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.² She was the daughter of Fountaine Walker and Adamina Maxwell Hunter.^1,3 She married Hugh Lyttleton Arbuthnot, son of John Alves Arbuthnot and Mary Arbuthnot, on 25 September 1879.¹ She died on 21 April 1920 at Horsham, Sussex, England.^1,3
     From 25 September 1879, her married name became Arbuthnot.¹ She was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1920.¹

     Fountaine Walker was born in 1833 at Pendleton, Lancashire, England.² He was the son of Samuel Walker.² He married Adamina Maxwell Hunter, daughter of Adam Hunter and Elizabeth Kirkaldy, on 4 June 1856 at St. John the Evangelists Church, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.² He died on 13 June 1892 at Ness Castle, Inverness-shire, Scotland.²

     Alice Maud Arbuthnot was born on 14 July 1880 at Chelsea, London, England^G.^1,2 She was the daughter of Hugh Lyttleton Arbuthnot and Elizabeth Fountaine Walker.¹ She married Brig.-Gen. Sir Dalrymple Arbuthnot, 5th Bt., son of Major Sir William Wedderburn Arbuthnot, 3rd Bt. and Alice Margaret Tompson, on 15 January 1918.¹ She died on 16 October 1969 at age 89.¹
     Alice Maud Arbuthnot usually went by her middle name of Maud.¹

     Justine Henrietta Ross was the daughter of Colin George Ross.¹ She married, firstly, Henry Robert Mansel Porter in 1881.² She married, secondly, Hugh Lyttleton Arbuthnot, son of John Alves Arbuthnot and Mary Arbuthnot, on 16 September 1922.¹ She died on 14 March 1947.¹
     From 1881, her married name became Porter.¹ From 16 September 1922, her married name became Arbuthnot.¹
