Hugh Lyttleton Arbuthnot was born on 27 September 1851 at Boulogne, FranceG.1,2 He was the son of John Alves Arbuthnot and Mary Arbuthnot.1 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Fountaine Walker, daughter of Fountaine Walker and Adamina Maxwell Hunter, on 25 September 1879.1 He married, secondly, Justine Henrietta Ross, daughter of Colin George Ross, on 16 September 1922.1 He died on 28 January 1929 at age 77.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He was a partner of Arbuthnot Latham & Company between 1875 and 1921.2 He lived at 26 Cadogan Square, London, EnglandG.3
