Colonel Henry George Gore-Browne, V.C.1 
He was given the name of Henry George Browne at birth.3 He gained the rank of Captain in the 32nd Regiment.2 He fought in the Siege of Lucknow in 1857.2 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.) on 20 June 1862, for his actions on 21 August 1857.1,2 In 1902 his name was legally changed to Henry George Gore-Browne by Deed Poll.3 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 100th Regiment.3 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Hampshire.3 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire.1 He held the office of Deputy-Governor of Isle of Wight in 1912.3
