Sir Richard de Grey, 1st Lord Grey (of Codnor)1 
He was created 1st Lord Grey, of Codnor, co. Derbys [England by writ] on 17 September 1397.1 He held the office of Admiral of the Fleet in 1401, from Thames Estuary to the North.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1404.1 He held the office of Keeper of Hosrton Castle on 7 August 1405, in Derbyshire.2 He held the office of Keeper of Brecknock Castle on 7 August 1405.2 He held the office of King’s Chamberlain on 7 August 1405.1 He held the office of Deputy Constable and Marshal of England on 12 August 1405.1 He held the office of Master Forester of Sherwood in 1406.1 He held the office of Constable of Nottingham Castle in 1406.1 In March 1405/6 he was granted lands in Wales and recommended by Parliament for reward for his part in suppressing Owen Glendower’s uprising.1 He held the office of Justice of South Wales in 1407.2 He was an envoy to France and Scotland.2 He held the office of Captain of Argentan Castle, Normandy
in 1417.2

Francis Basset, 1st Baron Basset of Stratton was born on 9 August 1757 at Walcot, EnglandG.3 He was the son of Francis Basset and Margaret St. Aubyn.3 He was baptised on 7 September 1757 at Charlbury, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.3 He married, firstly, Frances Susanna Hippesley Coxe, daughter of John Hippesley Coxe, on 16 May 1780 at St. Marylebone Church, Marylebone Road, Marylebone, London, EnglandG.4,5 He married, secondly, Harriett Lemon, daughter of Sir William Lemon, 1st Bt. and Jane Buller, on 13 July 1824.6 He died on 5 February 1835 at age 77.7
He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, EnglandG.3 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.3 He was created 1st Baronet Basset, of Tehidy, co. Cornwall [Great Britain] on 24 November 1779.3 He held the office of Recorder of Penrhyn.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Penrhyn between 1780 and 1796.3 He graduated from King’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, in 1786 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)3 He was created 1st Baron de Dunstanville of Tehidy on 17 June 1796.1 He was created 1st Baron Basset of Stratton, Cornwall [Great Britain] on 30 November 1797, with a special remainder to his daughter, Frances Basset.1
On his death, his Barony de Dunstanville and his baronetcy both became extinct.3 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.8
