     Gerhard I Graf von Holstein-Itzehoe was born in 1232. He was the son of Adolf IV von Schauenberg Graf von Holstein and Hedwig von der Lippe. He married, firstly, Elisabeth von Mecklenburg, daughter of Johann Ivan Herzog von Mecklenburg, after 1249. He married, secondly, Alessia di Monferrato, daughter of Boniface II ‘il Gigante’ Marchese del Monferrato and Margherita di Savoia, circa 1280.1 He died in 1290.
     He gained the title of Graf von Holstein-Itzehoe.

     Erik Folkunga, Duke of Södermanland was the son of Magnus I Ladulas, King of Sweden and Hedwig von Holstein.1 He married Ingeborg Haakonsdottir, Princess of Norway, daughter of Haakon V Magnusson, King of Norway and Euphemia von Rügen, in 1312.1 He died in 1318 murdered.2
     He gained the title of Duke of Södermanland.1

     Ingeborg Haakonsdottir, Princess of Norway was born in 1301.1 She was the daughter of Haakon V Magnusson, King of Norway and Euphemia von Rügen.1 She married Erik Folkunga, Duke of Södermanland, son of Magnus I Ladulas, King of Sweden and Hedwig von Holstein, in 1312.1 She married Knut Porse, Duke of South Holland in 1327.2 She died after 1360.1

     Haakon V Magnusson, King of Norway was born in 1270.1 He was the son of Magnus VI Haakonsson, King of Norway and Ingeborg Eriksdottir, Princess of Denmark.2 He married Euphemia von Rügen, daughter of Wizlaw II Herzog von Rügen and Agnes von Braunschweig-Lüneburg, in 1299.1 He died in 1319.1
     Haakon V Magnusson, King of Norway also went by the nick-name of Haakon ‘Longlegs’.3 He succeeded as the King Haakon V of Norway in 1299.2
