     Lt.-Col. Lord Spencer Hamilton was born in June 1742.¹ He was the son of James Hamilton, 5th Duke of Hamilton and Anne Spencer.¹ He died on 20 March 1791 at age 48.¹ He was also reported to have died on 22 March 1789 at Windsor Forest, Berkshire, England^G.²
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Guards.¹

     Lady Anne Hamilton was born in November 1738.¹ She was the daughter of James Hamilton, 5th Duke of Hamilton and Anne Spencer.¹ She married Arthur Chichester, 1st Marquess of Donegall, son of Hon. John Chichester and Elizabeth Newdigate, on 11 November 1761 at Easton, Suffolk, England^G.^1,3 She died on 11 November 1780.¹
     After her marriage, Lady Anne Hamilton was styled as Countess of Donegall on 11 November 1761. From 11 November 1761, her married name became Chichester.

     Arthur Chichester, 1st Marquess of Donegall was born on 13 June 1739.³ He was the son of Hon. John Chichester and Elizabeth Newdigate.⁴ He married, firstly, Lady Anne Hamilton, daughter of James Hamilton, 5th Duke of Hamilton and Anne Spencer, on 11 November 1761 at Easton, Suffolk, England^G.^1,4 He married, secondly, Charlotte Spencer, daughter of Conway Spencer, on 24 October 1788.⁵ He married, thirdly, Barbara Godfrey, daughter of Reverend Luke Godfrey and Mary Cope, on 12 October 1790.⁵ He died on 5 January 1799 at age 59.⁵
     He succeeded as the 6th Baron Chichester of Belfast, co. Antrim [I., 1625] on 30 September 1757.³ He succeeded as the 6th Viscount Chichester of Carrickfergus, co. Antrim [I., 1625] on 30 September 1757.³ He succeeded as the 5th Earl of Donegall [I., 1647] on 30 September 1757.³ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] in 1766.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Malmesbury between 1768 and 1774.³ He was created 1st Baron Fisherwick, co. Stafford [Great Britain] on 3 July 1790.³ He was created 1st Marquess of Donegall [Ireland] on 4 July 1791.³ He was created 1st Earl of Belfast [Ireland] on 4 July 1791.³

     Lord William Hamilton was born between 1699 and 1712.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Gen. James Hamilton, 4th Duke of Hamilton and Elizabeth Gerard.¹ He married Frances Hawes, daughter of Francis Hawes, on 30 April 1733.¹ He died on 11 June 1734.¹ He was also reported to have died without issue on 11 July 1734.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lanarkshire.¹

     Frances Hawes was born circa 1716.² She was the daughter of Francis Hawes.¹ She married, firstly, Lord William Hamilton, son of Lt.-Gen. James Hamilton, 4th Duke of Hamilton and Elizabeth Gerard, on 30 April 1733.¹ She married, secondly, William Holles Vane, 2nd Viscount Vane, son of William Vane, 1st Viscount Vane and Lucy Jolliffe, on 19 May 1735 at St. Marylebone Church, Marylebone Road, Marylebone, London, England^G.^1,2 She died on 31 March 1788 at Hill Street, Berkeley Square, London, England^G, after a painful illness, without issue.^1,2 She was buried at Shipbourne, Tonbridge, Kent, England^G.²
     From 30 April 1733, her married name became Hamilton. From 19 May 1735, her married name became Vane. After her marriage, Frances Hawes was styled as Viscountess Vane on 19 May 1735. In 1736 she left her second husband in Paris,and eloped with a Mr. Shirley to Brussels.²

     Francis Hawes was a director of the South Seas Company.² He lived at Purley Hall, Berkshire, England^G.¹

     William Holles Vane, 2nd Viscount Vane was born on 4 February 1713/14.² He was the son of William Vane, 1st Viscount Vane and Lucy Jolliffe.² He was baptised on 18 February 1713/14 at St. Anne Soho, Westminster, London, England.³ He married Frances Hawes, daughter of Francis Hawes, on 19 May 1735 at St. Marylebone Church, Marylebone Road, Marylebone, London, England^G.^1,2 He died on 5 April 1789 at age 75 at Downing Street, Westminster, London, England^G, without issue.² He was buried on 18 April 1789 at Shipbourne, Tonbridge, Kent, England^G, with great state.²
     He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 12 October 1730.² He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Vane of Dungannon, co. Tyrone [I., 1720] on 20 May 1734.² He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount Vane [I., 1720] on 20 May 1734.²
     On his death, his titles became extinct.² He was well-known for his various eccentricities, and for his wife’s reckless extravagence, which nearly ruined him.²

     Caroline Ely O’Carroll was born on 3 June 1784 at St. Omer, France.¹ She was the daughter of Sir John Whitley O’Carroll, 4th Bt. and Elizabeth O’Carroll.¹ She married Emil August von Hoenning, son of Johann Christian Ehrenfried von Hoenning and Johanna Maria Sophia von Schild, on 28 February 1807 at Weimar, Germany.¹ She died on 22 May 1816 at age 31 at Kassel, Germany.¹

     James Hamilton of Broomhill was born in 1610.¹ He was the son of Sir James Hamilton of Broomhill, 1st Bt. and Margaret Hamilton.¹ He died in 1674.¹
     He held the office of Bishop of Galloway in 1661.¹

     Margaret Hamilton was born before 1595.¹ She was the daughter of William Hamilton, 5th of Udston and Margaret Hamilton.^1,2 She married Sir James Hamilton of Broomhill, 1st Bt., son of John Hamilton, 3rd of Broomhill, before 1610.³
