     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, Wye, Kent, England^G.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1914.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1914 in the 3rd Battalion Ox and Bucks Light Infantry.¹ He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918, being mentioned in despatches.¹ He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1929 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was appointed Fellow, Chartered Land Agents’ Society (F.L.A.S.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Oxfordshire in 1938.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) in 1944.¹ He was a Land Agent to Oxford University in 1946.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff in 1959.¹ He was admitted to Chartered Surveyor’s Association (P.A.S.I.)¹

     Gwendoline Esther Hall Murton was the daughter of George Neames Murton.¹ She married Captain Claude Holdsworth Hunt before 1926.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Aubrey Vere Spencer, son of Aubrey John Spencer and Florence Mary Janson, on 15 September 1926.¹ She died on 24 September 1968.¹
     From 15 September 1926, her married name became Spencer.

     George Neames Murton lived at Petleys, Downe, Kent, England^G.¹

     Captain Claude Holdsworth Hunt married Gwendoline Esther Hall Murton, daughter of George Neames Murton, before 1926.¹ He died before 1926.¹

     Caroline Mildred Spencer was born on 26 November 1898.¹ She is the daughter of Aubrey John Spencer and Florence Mary Janson.¹

     George Trevor Spencer was born on 6 February 1855.¹ He was the son of Reverend Charles Vere Spencer and Emma Frederica à Court Gray.¹ He died on 8 February 1931 at age 76.¹
     He gained the rank of unknown in the Royal Navy.¹
