     Sir Cyril William Hurcomb, 1st Baron Hurcomb was born on 18 February 1883.¹ He was the son of William Hurcomb.¹ He married Dorothy Ethel Brooke, daughter of Alfred Brooke, on 14 August 1911.¹ He died on 7 August 1975 at age 92.²
     He was educated at Oxford High School, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He graduated from St. John’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1905 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was with the Secretary’s Office, General Post Office in 1906.¹ He graduated from St. John’s College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1908 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was Private Secretary to the Postmaster-General in 1911.¹ He was Deputy Director of Commercial Services, Ministry of Shipping between 1915 and 1918.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1918.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1922.¹ He held the office of Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport between 1927 and 1937.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.) in 1929.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1938.¹ He was Director-Geenral, Ministry of Shipping between 1939 and 1947.¹ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1946.¹ He was created 1st Baron Hurcomb, of Campden Hill, Royal Borough of Kensington [U.K.] on 5 July 1950.¹ On his death his title became extinct.²

     Dorothy Ethel Brooke was the daughter of Alfred Brooke.¹ She married Sir Cyril William Hurcomb, 1st Baron Hurcomb, son of William Hurcomb, on 14 August 1911.¹ She died on 21 February 1947.¹
     From 14 August 1911, her married name became Hurcomb.¹

     William Hurcomb lived at Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹

     Hon. Cicely Joan Hurcomb was born on 24 September 1912.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Cyril William Hurcomb, 1st Baron Hurcomb and Dorothy Ethel Brooke.¹ She married Cuthbert Antony Norris, son of Reverend Richard Alban Norris, on 7 December 1940.¹
     From 7 December 1940, her married name became Norris.¹

     Cuthbert Antony Norris is the son of Reverend Richard Alban Norris.¹ He married Hon. Cicely Joan Hurcomb, daughter of Sir Cyril William Hurcomb, 1st Baron Hurcomb and Dorothy Ethel Brooke, on 7 December 1940.¹

     Reverend Richard Alban Norris lived at Netherton Vicarage, Dudley, Worcestershire, England.¹

     Susan Elizabeth ffiske Norris was born on 16 August 1946.¹ She is the daughter of Cuthbert Antony Norris and Hon. Cicely Joan Hurcomb.¹

     Teona Felicity Norris was born on 5 December 1949.¹ She is the daughter of Cuthbert Antony Norris and Hon. Cicely Joan Hurcomb.¹

     Hon. Pamela Hurcomb was born on 26 June 1915.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Cyril William Hurcomb, 1st Baron Hurcomb and Dorothy Ethel Brooke.¹
