Sir Edward Louis Spears, 1st Bt., son of Charles McCarthy Spears and Melicent Lucy Hack, in January 1918.¹ She died on 2 December 1968 at age 82.¹
     Mary Borden used the pen-name of Bridget MacLagan.¹ Her married name became Turner.¹ She graduated from Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York, U.S.A.^G, in 1907 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ In 1914 she set up a field hospital for French soldiers close to the Front.¹ From January 1918, her married name became Spears.¹ She wrote the book The King of the Jews.² She wrote the book The Forbidden Zone, published 1929.¹

     Michael Justin Aylmer Spears was born in 1921.² He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Sir Edward Louis Spears, 1st Bt. and Mary Borden.² He married Margery Frances Eynon, daughter of Lt.-Col. James Sheldon Eynon, on 12 April 1950.¹ He and Margery Frances Eynon were divorced in 1956.¹ He died on 13 January 1969, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He was with the Foreign Office.²

     Nancy Maurice was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Sir Frederick Barton Maurice and Margaret Helen Marsh.¹ She married Maj.-Gen. Sir Edward Louis Spears, 1st Bt., son of Charles McCarthy Spears and Melicent Lucy Hack, on 19 December 1969 at St. Paul’s Church, Knightsbridge, London, England.¹ She died in 1975.¹
     She was secretary to Maj.-Gen. Edward Spears.¹ From 19 December 1969, her married name became Spears.¹

     Maj.-Gen. Sir Frederick Barton Maurice married Margaret Helen Marsh.¹
