Mary Borden was born on 15 May 1886 at Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.1 She was the daughter of William Borden.1 She married, firstly, George Douglas Turner.1 She and George Douglas Turner were divorced.1 She married, secondly, Maj.-Gen. Sir Edward Louis Spears, 1st Bt., son of Charles McCarthy Spears and Melicent Lucy Hack, in January 1918.1 She died on 2 December 1968 at age 82.1
Mary Borden used the pen-name of Bridget MacLagan.1 Her married name became Turner.1 She graduated from Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, Dutchess County, New York, U.S.A.G, in 1907 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 In 1914 she set up a field hospital for French soldiers close to the Front.1 From January 1918, her married name became Spears.1 She wrote the book The King of the Jews.2 She wrote the book The Forbidden Zone, published 1929.1
