     Commander William Stronach Forbes married Helen Margaret Strutt, daughter of George Herbert Strutt.¹ He died in 1949.¹
     He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)¹

     Lt.-Col. William John Herbert Forbes of Rothiemay was born on 25 September 1912.¹ He was the son of Commander William Stronach Forbes and Helen Margaret Strutt.¹ He married Diana Burrell de Ker Knox, daughter of William Barr Knox, on 9 July 1941.¹ He died on 26 April 2009 at age 96 at Amesbury Abbey, Amesbury, Wiltshire, England.¹
     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1945.¹

     Diana Burrell de Ker Knox is the daughter of William Barr Knox.¹ She married Lt.-Col. William John Herbert Forbes of Rothiemay, son of Commander William Stronach Forbes and Helen Margaret Strutt, on 9 July 1941.¹
     From 9 July 1941, her married name became Forbes.¹

     William Barr Knox lived at Ryefield House, Daldry, Ayrshire, Scotland.¹

     Iain William Stronach Forbes was born on 1 May 1942.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. William John Herbert Forbes of Rothiemay and Diana Burrell de Ker Knox.¹ He died before 1989.¹
