     George Anthony Smith was born on 11 June 1801.¹ He was the son of George Smith and Frances Sawyer.¹ He married, firstly, Eugénie Bourchier, daughter of Jean-Baptist Bourchier, on 25 June 1823.¹ He married, secondly, Catherine Batten, daughter of J. H. Batten, after 1831.¹ He died on 1 June 1849 at age 47.¹
     He was with the Madras Civil Service.¹

     Eugénie Bourchier was the daughter of Jean-Baptist Bourchier.¹ She married George Anthony Smith, son of George Smith and Frances Sawyer, on 25 June 1823.¹ She died in 1831.¹
     From 25 June 1823, her married name became Smith.¹

     Catherine Batten was the daughter of J. H. Batten.¹ She married George Anthony Smith, son of George Smith and Frances Sawyer, after 1831.¹ She died on 18 April 1846.¹
     From after 1831, her married name became Smith.¹

     J. H. Batten graduated with a Doctor of Divinity (D.D.)¹

     Reverend Samuel Smith was born on 21 May 1805.¹ He was the son of George Smith and Frances Sawyer.¹ He married Frances Jane Brooks, daughter of Major unknown Brooks, on 12 October 1842.¹ He died on 28 March 1877 at age 71.¹

     Frances Jane Brooks was the daughter of Major unknown Brooks.¹ She married Reverend Samuel Smith, son of George Smith and Frances Sawyer, on 12 October 1842.¹ She died on 25 April 1847.¹
     From 12 October 1842, her married name became Smith.¹

     Major unknown Brooks gained the rank of Major in the Honourable East India Company Service.¹

     Frances Mary Smith was the daughter of George Smith and Frances Sawyer.¹ She married Herbert Sawyer in 1820.¹ She died on 26 February 1851.¹
     From 1820, her married name became Sawyer.¹

     Herbert Sawyer married Frances Mary Smith, daughter of George Smith and Frances Sawyer, in 1820.¹ He died on 29 November 1877.¹
