Sir George Alexander Touche, 1st Bt.1
Sir George Alexander Touche, 1st Bt. was born on 24 May 1861.3 He is the son of Anthony Murray Touche and Margaret Guild.3 He married Jessie Brown, daughter of Isaac Brown, on 4 June 1887.3 He died on 7 July 1935 at age 74.3
He was senior partner of George A Touche & Co, of London, Birmingham, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg and of Touche, Niven & Co, of New York and Chicago in 1910.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for North Islington between 1910 and 1918.3 He held the office of Sheriff of London between 1915 and 1916.3 He was appointed Knight in 1917.3 He was created 1st Baronet Touche, of Westcott, Surrey [U.K.] on 5 July 1920.1

He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England.1 He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1921 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1922 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He graduated from University College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1923 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Reigate between 1931 and 1950.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Dorking between 1950 and 1964.1 He was appointed Knight in 1952.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1959.1 He held the office of Deputy Speaker, House of Commons between 1959 and 1962.1 He was created 1st Baronet Touche, of Dorking, Surrey [U.K.] on 3 July 1962.1
