Sir William Henry Tate, 2nd Bt. was born on 23 January 1842.2 He was the son of Sir Henry Tate, 1st Bt. and Jane Wignall.2 He married Caroline Hill Rigby Glasgow, daughter of John Glasgow, on 18 November 1863.2 He died on 31 December 1921 at age 79.2
He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Lancashire.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Tate, of Park Hill, Streatham Common, London [U.K., 1898] on 5 December 1899.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Lancashire in 1907.2
