     Robert Spens of Lathallan was the son of Alexander Spens of Lathallan and Katharine Wood.² He died before 1474.¹

     John Spens of Lathallan is the son of Robert Spens of Lathallan.² He married Margaret Dunbar, daughter of Patrick Dunbar of Kilconquhar.¹
     Said to have m Margaret, daughter and heir in her issue of Patrick Dunbar of Kilconquhar, son and heir of 12th Earl of March.¹ OF LATHALLAN.¹ In 1474 retoured heir to f.¹ In 1513 had, with a 2nd son (David, Rector Flisk, had charter of Muirton ).¹

     John Spens of Lathallan was the son of John Spens of Lathallan and Margaret Dunbar.^2,1 He married Helen Arnot, daughter of Sir John Arnot of that Ilk.¹ He died in 1520.¹
     In 1495 he was retoured heir to his father.¹ In 1499 he had a new charter from King James VI of Scotland.¹

     Helen Arnot is the daughter of Sir John Arnot of that Ilk.² She married John Spens of Lathallan, son of John Spens of Lathallan and Margaret Dunbar.¹
     Her married name became Spens.

     Alexander Spens of Lathallan is the son of John Spens of Lathallan and Helen Arnot.² He married unknown daughter Durie, daughter of unknown Durie of that Ilk.¹
     He sold Kittedie and Craigsanquhar to Walter Heriot of Burnturk, but retaining his feudal position as overlord in 1524.¹ In 1541 he had a new charter.¹

     James Spens of Lathallan was the son of Alexander Spens of Lathallan and unknown daughter Durie.² He married Elizabeth Seton, daughter of John Seton of Lathrisk.¹ He died in 1595.¹
     In 1548 he was served heir.¹
