     Jonkheer Sir Cornelis Jacob Speelman, 8th Bt. was born on 17 March 1917.¹ He was the son of Jonkheer Sir Cornelis Jacob Speelman, 7th Bt. and Maria Catharina Helena Castendijk.² He married, firstly, Julia Mona le Besque in 1972.¹ He married, secondly, Irene Agnes van Leeuwen in 1986.¹ He died on 23 April 2005 at age 88.¹
     He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Speelman [E., 1686] on 3 February 1949.¹ He was naturalized as a British subject.¹ He graduated from Perth University, Perth, Western Australia, Australia^G, in 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was a modern languages master at Geelong Grammer School, Geelong, Victoria, Australia.¹ He was with the Education Department, Royal Dutch Army.¹ He was a tutor at Exeter Tutorial College, Exeter, Devon, England.¹ On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.

     Julia Mona le Besque married Jonkheer Sir Cornelis Jacob Speelman, 8th Bt., son of Jonkheer Sir Cornelis Jacob Speelman, 7th Bt. and Maria Catharina Helena Castendijk, in 1972.¹ She died in 1978.¹
     From 1972, her married name became Speelman.

     Cornelis Speelman married Petronella Maria Wonderaer.¹ He died on 11 January 1684.¹
     He held the office of Governor-General of Dutch East India.¹

     John Cornelis Speelman was born on 1 February 1659.¹ He was the son of Cornelis Speelman and Petronella Maria Wonderaer.² He married Debora Kievit, daughter of John Nicolaes Kievit and Alida van Tromp, in 1683.¹ He died on 4 June 1686 at age 27.¹
     He lived at Batavia, Indonesia.¹ He died before his royal warrant creating him a a baronet passed the Great Seal.¹

     Debora Kievit was born circa 1655.¹ She was the daughter of John Nicolaes Kievit and Alida van Tromp.¹ She married John Cornelis Speelman, son of Cornelis Speelman and Petronella Maria Wonderaer, in 1683.¹ She died on 25 September 1695.¹
     From 1683, her married name became Speelman. On 9 September 1686 she was granted the rank of a baronet’s widow.¹

     Sir Cornelis Speelman, 1st Bt. was born on 19 January 1684.¹ He was the son of John Cornelis Speelman and Debora Kievit.² He married Agatha van der Houven Vrouwe van Heeswijk en Dinther, daughter of Jacob van der Houven, on 11 January 1716 at ‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.^1,3 He died on 30 April 1746 at age 62 at Castle Heeswijk, Heeswijk, The Netherlands.^1,3
     He was created 1st Baronet Speelman [England] on 9 September 1686.¹ He was Alderman of Bois de Luc.¹ He was feudal Lord of Nieland Scabinus at Bois le Duc.¹

     Agatha van der Houven Vrouwe van Heeswijk en Dinther was born in 1691.² She was the daughter of Jacob van der Houven.³ She married Sir Cornelis Speelman, 1st Bt., son of John Cornelis Speelman and Debora Kievit, on 11 January 1716 at ‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.^1,2 She died in 1747 at Castle Heeswijk, Heeswijk, The Netherlands.²

     Sir Cornelis Speelman, 2nd Bt. was born on 5 October 1722 at ‘s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands.^1,2 He was the son of Sir Cornelis Speelman, 1st Bt. and Agatha van der Houven Vrouwe van Heeswijk en Dinther.³ He married Cornelia Clara van der Meer, daughter of Jacob van der Meer, on 10 June 1745.¹ He died on 19 September 1787 at age 64 at Leiden, The Netherlands.^1,2
     He held the office of Burgomaster of Leiden.² He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Speelman [E., 1686] on 30 April 1746.¹ He was Lord of Heeswyk and Dinther, Burgomaster Leiden.¹
