     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Medical Service.1

     He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was Vicar at Tetsworth, Oxfordshire, England.1
