Milner & Son.² He held the office of Member of Leeds City Council between 1923 and 1929.² He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1925.² He held the office of Deputy Lord Mayor of Leeds between 1928 and 1929.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for South Leeds between 1929 and 1951.² He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the West Riding, Yorkshire in 1939.² He was Chairman of Ways and Means and Deputy Speaker between 1943 and 1945.² He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1945.² He was Deputy Speaker, House of Lords in 1951.² He was created 1st Baron Milner of Leeds, of Roundhay, in the City of Leeds [U.K.] on 20 December 1951.¹

     Eric Henry Milner was born on 3 June 1901.¹ He was the son of James Henry Milner and Elizabeth Tate.² He married Adela Scotson on 14 July 1927.¹ He died on 19 September 1975 at age 74.¹
     He was educated at Leeds Grammar School, Leeds, Yorkshire, England.¹ He graduated from Leeds University, Leeds, Yorkshire, West Riding, England, with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)¹ He graduated from Leeds University, Leeds, Yorkshire, England, in 1925 with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.Ch.)¹ He was chairman of East Riding Yorkshire National Health Executive Council.¹ He was chairman of East Riding Yorkshire Local Medical Committee.¹ He was appointed Officer, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (O.St.J.)¹

     Adela Scotson married Eric Henry Milner, son of James Henry Milner and Elizabeth Tate, on 14 July 1927.¹ She died on 23 March 1957.¹
     From 14 July 1927, her married name became Milner.

     Eric Peter Gerard Milner was born on 30 July 1929.¹ He was the son of Eric Henry Milner and Adela Scotson.² He married Myra Grace Binington, daughter of John Francis Binington, on 13 September 1960.¹ He died in 1979, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Sedbergh School, Sedbergh, Cumbria, England.¹

     Myra Grace Binington is the daughter of John Francis Binington.² She married Eric Peter Gerard Milner, son of Eric Henry Milner and Adela Scotson, on 13 September 1960.¹
     From 13 September 1960, her married name became Milner.

     Gillian Elizabeth Milner was born on 21 April 1935.¹ She was the daughter of Eric Henry Milner and Adela Scotson.² She died on 22 October 1979 at age 44, unmarried.¹
     She was registered as a Member, Society of Radiographers (M.S.R.) in 1955.¹

     Alan Milner was born on 31 May 1904.¹ He was the son of James Henry Milner and Elizabeth Tate.² He married Enyd Gibson on 25 April 1934.¹ He died on 4 November 1957 at age 53.¹

     Enyd Gibson married Alan Milner, son of James Henry Milner and Elizabeth Tate, on 25 April 1934.¹ She died in 1950.¹

     Patrick Daniel Russell Milner was born on 14 October 1941.¹ He is the son of Alan Milner and Enyd Gibson.² He married Gillian Patricia Foulds, daughter of Alec Fuller Foulds, on 9 September 1967.¹
