Roger Relton Goodbody was born on 2 December 1913.¹ He was the son of Lionel William Sturge Goodbody and Irene Emily Isobel Relton.² He married, firstly, Margaret Thelma de Fontaine, daughter of Lawrence de Fontaine, in August 1943.¹ He married, secondly, Suzanne Elizabeth Shilson, daughter of Joseph William Shilson, on 8 June 1949.¹ He died on 1 October 1980 at age 66 at Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.³
     He was educated at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England^G.¹ He was educated in 1934 at College of Aero Engineering.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1942.¹ He retired from the military in 1968, with the rank of Group Captain, late of the Royal Air Force.¹ He lived in 1976 at 2 Church Lane, Limpley Stoke, Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹
