     John Goodenough was born on 21 April 1706.¹ He was the son of William Goodenough and Elizabeth Southby.²
     He fought in the Battle of Culloden in 1746.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in 1746 in the Richbell’s Regiment.¹

     Reverend William Goodenough was born on 29 May 1707.¹ He was the son of William Goodenough and Elizabeth Southby.² He married Elizabeth Serle, daughter of Richard Serle, on 4 March 1739.¹ He died on 11 November 1768 at age 61.¹
     He was the Vicar at Kimpton, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He was the Rector at Broughton Poggs, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He also had three other sons.¹

     Richard Serle lived at Winchester, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Elizabeth Serle was the daughter of Richard Serle.² She married Reverend William Goodenough, son of William Goodenough and Elizabeth Southby, on 4 March 1739.¹ She died on 11 November 1762.¹
     From 4 March 1739, her married name became Goodenough.

     Reverend Samuel Goodenough was born on 29 April 1743.¹ He was the son of Reverend William Goodenough and Elizabeth Serle.² He married Elizabeth Ford, daughter of James Ford, on 17 April 1770.¹ He died on 12 August 1827 at age 84.¹
     He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Civil Law (D.C.L.)¹ He was the Rector and Vicar at Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He held the office of Canon of Windsor in 1798.¹ He was the Vicar at Broughton, Staffordshire, England^G.¹ He was a founder of the Linnean Society.¹ He held the office of Dean of Rochester in 1802.¹ He held the office of Bishop of Carlisle in 1808.¹ He also had six daughters.¹

     James Ford graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He was a surgeon at Middlesex Hospital, London, England^G.¹ He lived at Llangattock, Breconshire, Wales^G.¹

     Elizabeth Ford was the daughter of James Ford.² She married Reverend Samuel Goodenough, son of Reverend William Goodenough and Elizabeth Serle, on 17 April 1770.¹ She died on 26 May 1827.¹
     From 17 April 1770, her married name became Goodenough.

     Reverend Edmund Goodenough was born on 6 April 1785.¹ He was the son of Reverend Samuel Goodenough and Elizabeth Ford.² He married Frances Cockerell, daughter of Samuel Pepys Cockerell and Anne Whetham, on 31 May 1821.¹ He died on 2 May 1845 at age 60.¹
     He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹ He was the Headmaster between 1819 and 1828 at Westminster School, Westminster, London, England^G.¹ He held the office of Prebendary of York and Carlisle.¹ He held the office of Dean of Wells in 1831.¹ He also two other sons and four daughters.¹
