     Reverend William Gawler Monckton was born in June 1866.¹ He was the son of Henry Monckton and Elizabeth Charlotte Judge.² He married Sophie Mary Oldham, daughter of Henry Oldham, on 21 July 1902.¹ He died on 8 January 1935 at age 68.¹

     Violet Arundell Monckton was born on 7 July 1905.¹ She is the daughter of Reverend William Gawler Monckton and Sophie Mary Oldham.² She married Paul Jay, son of William Clouston Jay, on 21 September 1933.¹
