     Richard Butler was born in 1792.¹ He was the son of John Butler and Alice Scully.² He married Elinor Dillon, daughter of Peter Dillon, in 1831.¹ He died on 11 March 1870.¹
     He was educated at Abbey Grammar School, Tipperary, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.¹ He was educated at Ulverston, Lancashire, England^G, under Dr Everard (his kinsman through the O’Meaghers of Ballymorris), the coadjutor Bishop of Bordeaux beforeFrench Revolution.)¹ He lived in 1832 at Suirville, County Tipperary, Ireland^G, after taking a 90-year lease.¹ He lived at Ballyslateen, County Tipperary, Ireland^G, across the River Suir from Ballycarron.¹ He lived He had six other children who died in infancy.¹

     Mary Butler was born in 1783.¹ She was the daughter of John Butler and Alice Scully.² She married Patrick Grene in 1803.¹ She died in 1805, from a neglected cold, without issue.¹
     From 1803, her married name became Grene.

     He lived at Abbey Athassel, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.¹

     Peter Dillon lived at Donnybrook, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹

     Elinor Dillon is the daughter of Peter Dillon.² She married Richard Butler, son of John Butler and Alice Scully, in 1831.¹
     She was a governess at Balycarron, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.¹ From 1831, her married name became Butler.

     Richard Butler was born in 1833.¹ He was the son of Richard Butler and Elinor Dillon.² He married Mary Anne Sweetman, daughter of Patrick Sweetman.¹ He died on 12 August 1902.¹
     He had one son and one daughter (who both died as infants.)¹

     Patrick Sweetman held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Kildare.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Kildare.¹ He lived at Longtown, County Kildare, Ireland^G.¹

     Mary Anne Sweetman was the daughter of Patrick Sweetman.² She married Richard Butler, son of Richard Butler and Elinor Dillon.¹ She died in October 1910.¹
     Her married name became Butler.

     John Butler was born in 1835.¹ He was the son of Richard Butler and Elinor Dillon.² He died in 1853, unmarried.¹
     He was an engineer at Belgium^G.¹

     Thomas Butler was born in 1837.¹ He was the son of Richard Butler and Elinor Dillon.² He married Annie Barry, daughter of James Barry, on 30 November 1867.¹ He died on 23 January 1919.¹
     He held the office of Resident Magistrate for Newry, County Down between 1868 and 1872.¹ He held the office of Resident Magistrate for Kilkee, County Clare between 1872 and 1877.¹ He lived at Ballyslateen, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.¹ He held the office of Resident Magistrate for Mallow, County Cork Clare 1872.¹ He lived at Cahirciveen, County Kerry, Ireland^G.¹ He was forced to leave Ballyslateen when the lease was suddenly revoked and renewal refused unless on payment of huge fine to which he would not agree.¹
