Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse was born on 15 October 1881.1 He was the son of Henry Ernest Wodehouse and Eleanor Deane.3 He married Ethel May Newton on 30 September 1914.1 He died on 14 February 1975 at age 93 at Southampton, New York, U.S.A., without issue.1,2
He became Leonora Wodehouse‘s adoptive father.2 He was educated at Dulwich College, Dulwich, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He was with Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank.1 He was a dramatist and author of over 100 books, notably the Jeeves/Wooster and Blandings Castle series.1 He was a broadcaster.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters (D.Litt.) by Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1939.1 He was naturalized as a U.S. citizen in 1955.1 He was appointed Knight in 1975.1
