     He was appointed Knight circa 1513.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1521.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Derbyshire in 1530.¹ He wrote the book A Treatise on Hunting.¹

     He was one of the FitzHerberts of Tissington.¹ John FitzHerbert lived at Ewall, England^G.¹ He lived at Ash, England^G.¹

     Barbara FitzHerbert is the daughter of John FitzHerbert.² She married Sir Thomas Cokayne, son of Thomas Cokayne and Agnes Barlow.¹
     Her married name became Cokayne.

     Francis Cokayne was the son of Sir Thomas Cokayne and Barbara FitzHerbert.² He married Dorothy Marrow, daughter of Thomas Marrow.¹ He died in 1538.¹
