     He gained the rank of Captain in the Native Infantry Horse.² He held the office of High Sheriff of County Dublin in 1918.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Dublin.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Down.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Fermanagh.² He lived at Belgard House, Clondalkin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.²

     Mary Emily Beresford was the daughter of Most Rev. Marcus Gervais Beresford and Mary L’Estrange.² She married Colonel Thomas Heywood on 16 August 1853.¹ She died on 12 August 1858.¹
     Her married name became Heywood.

     Emily Sarah Beresford was the daughter of Reverend John Isaac Beresford and Sophia White.² She married Very Rev. John Maunsell Massy-Beresford, son of Hon. John Massy and Maria Maunsell, on 6 May 1851.¹ She died on 29 July 1893.¹
     From 6 May 1851, her married name became Massy. From 1871, her married name became Massy-Beresford.² She lived at Macbie Hill, Peebles-shire, Scotland^G.²

     John Claudius Beresford was born on 6 December 1799.¹ He was the son of John Claudius Beresford and Elizabeth McKenzie Menzies.¹ He married Catherine Cuddy, daughter of Lieutenant William Cuddy, on 7 April 1836.¹ He died on 23 November 1866 at age 66.¹
     He lived in 1865 at Craig Dhu Varren, Portrush, County Antrim, Ireland^G.¹

     Captain George Robert Beresford was born on 18 October 1830.² He was the son of Reverend John Isaac Beresford and Sophia White.^1,2 He died on 6 April 1871 at age 40, unmarried.²
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 88th Foot.² He lived at Macbie Hill, Peebles-shire, Scotland^G.¹ He was awarded the Chevalier, Legion d’Honneur.²

     Ellen Richardson married William George Howard, son of Rev. Hon. Francis Howard and Frances Beresford, on 24 February 1863.¹
     Her married name became Howard.

     Catherine Cuddy is the daughter of Lieutenant William Cuddy.¹ She married John Claudius Beresford, son of John Claudius Beresford and Elizabeth McKenzie Menzies, on 7 April 1836.¹
