     He was educated at New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.² He was awarded the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers’ Decoration (V.R.D.) in 1944.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Gosport and Fareham between 1950 and 1974.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Fareham between 1974 and 1979.² He was appointed Knight in 1979.²

     Medina Bennett is the daughter of Sir Reginald Frederick Brittain Bennett and Henrietta Crane.^2,3 She married Christopher Sebastian Bruce Gilbey, son of Arthur Sebastian Gilbey and Jennifer Beryl Bruce, in 1980.¹
     From 1980, her married name became Gilbey.

     Jasper Sebastian Christopher Gilbey was born in 1981.¹ He is the son of Christopher Sebastian Bruce Gilbey and Medina Bennett.²

     Sophie Gilbey was born in 1983.¹ He is the son of Christopher Sebastian Bruce Gilbey and Medina Bennett.²

     Patricia Gilbey was born on 22 January 1949.¹ She is the daughter of Arthur Sebastian Gilbey and Jennifer Beryl Bruce.² She married Andrew Michael Talbot Millar, son of Lt.-Cdr. Michael Darracott Millar and Rosemary Ann Hunn, in 1973.¹
     From 1973, her married name became Millar.¹ She lived in 2003 at Woodlands Cottages, Brixton Hill, Benson, Oxfordshire, England^G.¹

     Andrew Michael Talbot Millar was born on 8 October 1946.² He is the son of Lt.-Cdr. Michael Darracott Millar and Rosemary Ann Hunn.² He married Patricia Gilbey, daughter of Arthur Sebastian Gilbey and Jennifer Beryl Bruce, in 1973.¹
     He was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England.²
