He gained the rank of “the Reputed Colonel” in the Parlimental Army.1 He was part of a plot to abduct the Lord Lieutenant from Dublin Castle in 1663.1 He lived at Sarney, Dunboyne, County Meath, IrelandG.1 He attempted to abduct and hang the Duke of Ormonde in 1670.1 He stormed the Tower of London in an attempt to carry off the Crown Jewels on 9 May 1671, for which he was imprisoned and forfeited his Irish estates.1 He was pardoned by King Charles II on 8 August 1671 and granted a pension worth £500 per year.1
