     James Franklin Bland was born on 24 January 1799.1 He was the son of Francis Christopher Bland and Lucinda Herbert.1 He married, firstly, Emma Taylor, daughter of Major Joseph Taylor, on 27 December 1825.1 He married, secondly, Josephine Deborah Doyle after 1832.2 He died on 6 March 1863 at age 64.1
     He held the office of High Sheriff in 1835.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Derriquin Castle, Kilcrohane, County Kerry, IrelandG.1
