Walter Strickland Beamish was born on 3 September 1879.¹ He was the son of Ferdinand Beamish and Frances Anne Strickland.¹ He married, firstly, Marion Godey Shaw, daughter of Edward Shaw, on 9 October 1911.¹ He married, secondly, Alice Bessie Grace, daughter of Vice-Admiral Henry Edgar Grace, on 15 January 1930.¹ He died on 14 February 1962 at age 82.¹
     He was educated at Clifton College, Clifton, Bristol, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military College, Woolwich, Kent, England^G.¹ He fought in the First World War, as a Lieutenant-Colonel with the Royal Artillery and the Indian Army. He was mentioned in despatches twice.¹ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1927.¹ He lived at Glenarm, Foxrock, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹

     Marion Godey Shaw was the daughter of Edward Shaw.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Walter Strickland Beamish, son of Ferdinand Beamish and Frances Anne Strickland, on 9 October 1911.¹ She died on 15 May 1925.¹
     From 9 October 1911, her married name became Beamish.¹

     Captain Patrick Hugh Beamish was born on 6 November 1912.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Walter Strickland Beamish and Marion Godey Shaw.¹ He married Pamela Hawkins, daughter of Reverend R. J. Hawkins, in 1940 in a childless marriage.¹ He died on 18 September 1956 at age 43.^1,2
     He was educated at Oundle School, Oundle, Northamptonshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from London University, London, England^G, in 1938 with a Licentiate in Medicine and Surgery of the Society of Apothecaries (L.M.S.S.A.)¹ He fought in the Second World War, as a Captain in the Royal Army Medical Corps.¹ He graduated from London University, London, England^G, in 1946 with a Diploma of Medical Radiology (D.M.R.)¹

     Pamela Hawkins is the daughter of Reverend R. J. Hawkins.¹ She married Captain Patrick Hugh Beamish, son of Lt.-Col. Walter Strickland Beamish and Marion Godey Shaw, in 1940 in a childless marriage.¹
     From 1940, her married name became Beamish.¹

     Alice Bessie Grace was the daughter of Vice-Admiral Henry Edgar Grace.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Walter Strickland Beamish, son of Ferdinand Beamish and Frances Anne Strickland, on 15 January 1930.¹
     From 15 January 1930, her married name became Beamish.¹ As of 1976, Alice Bessie Grace lived at 36 Alexandra Road, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹

     Vice-Admiral Henry Edgar Grace was born on 11 July 1876 at Kensington, London, England.² He died on 19 March 1937 at age 60 at Devonport, Devon, England.²
