     Captain Rowland Edward Berkeley was born on 28 September 1852.2 He was the son of Comyns Rowland Berkeley and Mary Ann Lateward.1 He married, firstly, Alice Rushbridger, daughter of Joseph Rushbridger, on 2 July 1878.1 He married, secondly, Kathleen Edith Swainson, daughter of Christopher Grandorge Swainson, in 1916.1 He died on 19 December 1926 at age 74.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1

     Alice Rushbridger was the daughter of Joseph Rushbridger.1 She married Captain Rowland Edward Berkeley, son of Comyns Rowland Berkeley and Mary Ann Lateward, on 2 July 1878.1 She died on 22 November 1913.1
     From 2 July 1878, her married name became Berkeley.1

     He was a practising solicitor in 1903.1
