     He was captain of the packet ship Briesis.2

William Rice Courtney1

     William Rice Courtney was baptised on 12 March 1815 at Bristol, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of James Courtney and Anne Cotton.1 He married Jane Brimacombe, daughter of James Brimacombe, on 7 December 1836 at Falmouth, Cornwall, EnglandG.1,2 He was also reported to have died in 1878 at Portsea, Hampshire, EnglandG.2
     He gained the rank of Gunner in the Royal Navy.2
