     He was appointed King’s Police Medal (K.P.M.) in 1927.¹ He was Inspector-General of the Kenya Police.¹ He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1939.¹ He was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.)¹

     Margaret Johnstone was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Duncan Johnstone.¹ She married, firstly, F. O. Lyon before 1936.¹ She married, secondly, Richard Charles Alexander Cavendish, son of Reginald Richard Frederick Cavendish and Mary Constance Dupuis, on 26 May 1936.¹ She died on 28 July 1977.¹
     From before 1936, her married name became Lyon.¹ From 26 May 1936, her married name became Cavendish.¹ She was appointed Dame of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (D.G.St.J.)¹ She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1966.¹

     F. O. Lyon married Margaret Johnstone, daughter of Lt.-Col. Duncan Johnstone, before 1936.¹ He died before 1936.¹

     Rachel Muriel Constance Evelyn Cavendish was born on 13 October 1882.¹ She was the daughter of Reginald Richard Frederick Cavendish and Mary Constance Dupuis.¹ She died on 24 June 1939 at age 56, unmarried.¹

     Diana Violet Gladys Cavendish was born on 6 February 1887.¹ She was the daughter of Reginald Richard Frederick Cavendish and Mary Constance Dupuis.¹ She married Captain James Shuckburgh Carter, son of J. P. Carter, on 16 April 1914.¹ She died on 27 July 1962 at age 75.¹
     From 16 April 1914, her married name became Carter.¹

     Charlotte de Queylar married Louis de Sambucy de Sorgue, Barone de Sambucy de Sorgue.¹
     Her married name became de Sambucy de Sorgue.¹

     Captain James Shuckburgh Carter was the son of J. P. Carter.¹ He married Diana Violet Gladys Cavendish, daughter of Reginald Richard Frederick Cavendish and Mary Constance Dupuis, on 16 April 1914.¹ He died on 27 September 1918, killed in action.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹

     Beatrix Frances Dupois Cavendish was born on 8 March 1888.¹ She was the daughter of Reginald Richard Frederick Cavendish and Mary Constance Dupuis.¹ She married Hugh Molyneux Miller, son of Robert Miller, on 16 April 1914.¹ She died in 1973.²
