Lt.-Gen. Sir Frederick Arthur Montague Browning was born on 20 December 1896 at Kensington, London, England.3 He was the son of Frederick Henry Browning and Anne Alt.3 He married Daphne du Maurier, daughter of Sir Gerald du Maurier, on 19 July 1932 at Church of St. Willow, Lanteglos-by-Fowey, Cornwall, England.1,3 He died on 14 March 1965 at age 68 at Menabilly, Cornwall, England.3
He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the British Empire (K.B.E.)4 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)4 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)4 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.)4

Daphne du Maurier1 
Daphne du Maurier was born in 1907. She was the daughter of Sir Gerald du Maurier.2 She married Lt.-Gen. Sir Frederick Arthur Montague Browning, son of Frederick Henry Browning and Anne Alt, on 19 July 1932 at Church of St. Willow, Lanteglos-by-Fowey, Cornwall, England.1,3 She died in 1989.
She was an author. From 19 July 1932, her married name became Browning.1 She wrote the book Jamaica Inn, published 1936.4 She wrote the book Rebecca, published 1938.4 She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.) in 1967. She wrote the book Growing Pains, published 1977.4
