     Mary Gillespie was the daughter of John Gillespie.² She married Reverend Frederick Carmichael, son of Reverend John Carmichael, on 4 December 1628.¹ She died in 1669.¹
     From 4 December 1628, her married name became Carmichael.

     Reverend Alexander Carmichael was born in 1639.¹ He was the son of Reverend Frederick Carmichael and Mary Gillespie.² He married Christian Inglis, daughter of John Inglis.¹ He died in July 1677.¹
     He was educated at St. Andrews University, St. Andrews, Fife, Scotland^G.¹ He was the Minister in 1664 at Pettinain, Scotland^G.¹

     John Inglis was the Minister at Hamilton, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Christian Inglis is the daughter of John Inglis.² She married Reverend Alexander Carmichael, son of Reverend Frederick Carmichael and Mary Gillespie.¹
     Her married name became Carmichael.

     Gershom Carmichael was born circa 1672 at Scotland^G.² He was the son of Reverend Alexander Carmichael and Christian Inglis.³ He married Christian Inglis on 19 September 1695 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.² He died on 26 February 1729 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.²
     He was Professor of Moral Philosophy at University of Glasgow, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.¹ He held the office of Burgess of Edinburgh.¹

     Christian Inglis was born in 1675 at Scotland^G.¹ She married Gershom Carmichael, son of Reverend Alexander Carmichael and Christian Inglis, on 19 September 1695 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.¹
     From 19 September 1695, her married name became Carmichael.

     Alexander Carmichael was baptised on 30 August 1696.² He was the son of Gershom Carmichael and Christian Inglis.³
     He was Printer to Glasgow University.¹

     Reverend Frederick Carmichael was baptised on 18 March 1708 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.^1,2 He was the son of Gershom Carmichael and Christian Inglis.³ He married Isobel Lauder on 7 August 1743 at Inveresk, East Lothian, Scotland^G.^1,2 He died on 17 October 1751 at age 43 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.^1,2 He was buried on 19 October 1751 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.²
